Collector's Pocket Book (the "service") is a ServiceLinked service provided by J & M Billing LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("we", "us"). Restorations of America, Inc. builds and runs the service's technology for us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile photo. Also the profile details you choose to add, such as a display name, persona (collector, pawnshop, bookstore, or agency), and general location.
- Vault content: the photos you upload, along with identifications, valuations, locations, notes, history entries, sales, transfers, wantlist entries, and vouches.
- Billing information: your plan, subscription status, and payment metadata. Card details go straight to Stripe. We never receive or store them.
- Optional information: a Gemini API key if you're on the BYOK plan, and your showcase and subdomain settings.
- Technical information: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, time of request, and errors), used to keep the service secure and working. We don't currently run product analytics.
2. How we use it
- To run the service: identifying and valuing your pieces, storing your vault, and keeping each piece's history.
- To run the Nexus: showing the pieces and profile details you make visible, matching wantlists, and recording transfers and vouches.
- To bill your subscription through Stripe.
- To send service email, like sign-in codes, receipts, and alerts you've turned on.
- To protect the service and its members from fraud and abuse.
3. What we don't do
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't train AI models on your photos or vault content.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't look at your vault, except when you ask us to for support, or when the law requires it.
4. What other people can see
Your vault is private by default. Other people see only what you choose to share: a piece's public link, your showcase, or pieces and profile details you make visible on the Nexus. When you transfer a piece to another member, its history goes with it into their vault. That record shows the piece passed through your hands. Vouches you give or receive appear on the profiles involved.
5. Who processes your data
- Restorations of America, Inc.: builds and operates the service's technology for us. It handles your data only to run the service, under confidentiality obligations.
- Our own servers: your account and vault are stored in a database we operate on servers we rent from Hostinger. That's not a shared app platform.
- Google Gemini: when you use an AI feature, we send Gemini the photo and details that feature needs. Google's API terms apply to that processing. On BYOK, the request uses your own key.
- Google Sign-In: if you choose it, used only to confirm who you are.
- Stripe: payments and subscription management.
- Google Fonts: loads the typeface used by our website and app.
6. Security
All traffic to the service is encrypted in transit with TLS. Access to your data is restricted by database-level rules, so members can read only what they own or what has been shared with them. No system is perfectly secure. If we ever learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you promptly.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and portability: download your entire vault as JSON from your Profile at any time, on any plan.
- Correction: edit your profile and your pieces directly in the app.
- Deletion: Profile → Delete Account. Your account and vault are permanently deleted after a 24-hour window, in case you change your mind. History that has already traveled with a piece you transferred stays with that piece's new owner.
- Additional rights: depending on where you live (for example, the EU, the UK, or California), you may have further rights. Email us to use them, and we'll respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use only what the service needs to work, like keeping you signed in and remembering your theme and preferences. We use no advertising trackers or cross-site tracking.
9. Children
The service isn't intended for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also email active members before it takes effect.
